This is a fully inspired recipe from food blogger Camilla. I fell in love with this simple recipe and the foolproof way it turns out.

Try this recipe and replace store-bought bread made of refined flour!

Ingredients

Beetroot bread

  • Cauliflower: ½ cup (blended to make into granules)
  • Beetroot: ½ cup (pulp)
  • Besan: ½ cup
  • Rock Salt: ½ tsp
  • Cold-pressed Coconut Oil: 1tsp
  • Water: 1/3 cup

Carrot bread

  • Cauliflower: ½ cup (blended to make into granules)
  • Carrot: ½ cup (pulp)
  • Besan:½ cup
  • Rock Salt: ½ tsp
  • Cold-pressed Coconut Oil: 1 tsp
  • Water: 1/3 cup

Broccoli bread

  • Broccoli: 1 cup (blended to make into granules)
  • Beetroot: ½ cup (pulp)
  • Besan: ½ cup
  • Rock Salt: ½ tsp
  • Cold-pressed Coconut Oil: 1 tsp
  • Water: 1/3 cup

Method

  • Preheat the oven at 200° C.
  • Mix all the ingredients for eachvariety of bread together and add water little by little to get a thick batter-like mixture.
  • It may look grainy but that's ok. Ensure it is not runny. It is ok if you don’t use all the water.
  • Pat the batter on a greased baking sheet to a ¼ inch height and shape into a rectangle of even thickness.
  • Bake for around 20 minutes.
  • Cool and cut into desired shapes and use them to assemble sandwiches.

Wellcure tip:

Eating guide:

  • Food group: vegetables and legumes.
  • Besan or chickpeas flour comes under legume category and a great addition to much-needed protein and fiber.
  • It’s a good replacement for sandwiches made with commercial wheat bread.
