Sprouts Chaat - a quick & nutritious evening snack

Sprouts are commonly associated with health and nutrition. But here’s this recipe to get them associated with taste as well. Sprouts of your choice combined with raw veggies and lip-smacking chutneys - a total package of taste and nutrition!
Sprouts chat not only is a chatpata way of having sprouts, it is also very filling and gratifying. You could even have it as a meal replacement and you won't be disappointed!
You could have the chutneys prepared in advance to simply put the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and your chat is ready in a blink!
Ingredients
- Any sprout, mixed or single: 1 cup (steamed)
- Potato: 1 (steamed and mashed)
- Cucumber:1 (finely chopped)
- Tomato:1 (finely chopped)
- Onion:1 (finely chopped)
- Mint: 10 leaves (chopped)
- Black salt/chaat masala: 1 tsp
For the dressing:

Chilly Garlic Paste:

Red Chilly: 1

Garlic: 2 Pods

Make into paste with little water and salt.

Green Chutney

Coriander: 2 tbsp

Mint: 1 tbsp

Ginger: ¼ tsp

Green Chilly: ¼ tsp

Raw Mango: 2 small pcs

Lemon Juice: 1 tbsp

Dalia (Chutney Watana): 1 tbsp

Grind together
-

Tamarind Chutney
-
Tamarind Paste: 1 tbsp
-
Date paste: 2 tbsp
-
Jeera: ¼ tsp (roasted and powdered)

Red Chilly Powder: ¼ tsp

Blend together in a pulpy consistency

Method
- Mix your steamed sprouts with mashed potatoes and half the chopped onions and mint, with black salt/chaat masala.
- On top add chopped cucumber, tomato and mint and the chutneys.
- Garnish with the remaining mint and chopped onions.
Eating guide:
- Food group: sprouts
- Sprouts are live foods! a powerhouse of nourishment.
- So add it liberally to meals especially for growing kids or someone recovering from an illness.
- You can sprout any of the whole daals such as moong,moth, kali malka masoor. And then there is peanuts!
