Sesame Tahini

This authentic homemade tahini paste is so quick and easy to make, is less expensive than store-bought, and tastes WAY better! Sesame seeds are known to be naturally high source of minerals and vitamins. This tahini recipe is a quick way to get the goodness of sesame seeds in the form of a creamy, textured paste. It can be used generously as a salad dressing or to prepare hummus.
Could be prepared in advance and refrigerated in an air-tight container.
Ingredients
- Sesame seeds: 4 cups
- Cold-pressed sesame oil: 3 tbsp
- Rock salt: to taste
Method
- Lightly toast the sesame seeds over medium heat (taking care not to turn them brown)
- Once cool, place the toasted sesame seeds in a blender or food processor and grind to form a crumbly paste.
- Add sesame oil and bit of salt to taste. Process until combined smoothly.
- Store tightly covered in the refrigerator.
