Salted Peanuts

A very handy item to stock up in your kitchen cabinet!Roasted peanuts is a staple in our kitchens. Do this versions of roasted salted peanuts and serve it chaat like in evenings or at parties!
Ingredients
- Peanuts - 1 cup
- Sendha namak or rock salt – to taste
- Water: for soaking
Method
- Soak peanuts for 2-3 hours in salted water.
- Drain water, keep on a plate and let it dry completely.
- Take a wok (kadhai) – dry roast – till brown.
- Keep the flame low so as to not burn.
- You can keep on a plate and crush slightly with hands. Blow away the skin.
- Or you can use as is.
- Stock up in a glass bottle.
HOW TO USE:
Add liberally to salads (Adjust salt levels in salads).
Have it as-is in office, in your 5 pm meetings.
Or add chopped tomato, onion, coriander leaves, and lemon to rustle up a quick party snack.
Variation: Can do roasted almonds in same way.
Eating Guide:
Food group: Legumes (Yes Peanuts are actually legumes not nuts!)
This food group can be easily combined with other food groups such as grains, even non veg unlike dairy milk.
So add it into your family meals just for that reason!
