Nutty Ginger Bites - Refined Sugar-Free Dairy-Free

When you want something sweet, but not so sweet! When you want something nice and tasty but not unhealthy! Here’s a quick-fix and short-eat to satisfy those not so clear cravings.

Ingredients

  • Poha: ½ cup
  • Almonds: ¼ cup
  • Dry ginger powder: 1 tsp
  • Cardamom: 1 pod
  • Organic jaggery powder: 3 tbsp
  • Water: 1 tbsp
  • Rock salt: 1 pinch
  • Roasted crushed nuts/ poppy seeds: to coat the dough.

Method

  • Grind poha in a mixie to get as fine a powder as you can get.
  • Transfer to a mixing bowl.
  • Grind almond, cardamom, salt and ginger powder to get a fine powder.
  • Add it to the mixing bowl with powdered poha.
  • In a pan boil jaggery powder with a tbsp of water for 3 minutes or until completely melted and syrupy.
  • Add the melted jaggery syrup to the mixing bowl little by little and knead into a soft dough.
  • Shape the dough into a cylinder and roll it in nut powder or poppy seeds to coat it.

  • Cut slices and serve. You can flatten and press with a fork to get a design as seen in the coverpicture.
  • Best served after a few hours.
