Dairy free chaas, made with vegan yoghurt. Refreshing and cooling. Summertime sees us needing a lot of hydration. Instead of reaching out to packaged drinks loaded with preservatives, make this chaas which is quick and healthy.

Ingredients

  • Cucumber: 200 gms (peeled)
  • Raw mango pulp: 2 tablespoons
  • Any dairy-free yoghurt: 1 cup
  • Ginger: 1 teaspoon (grated)
  • Mint leaves: 2 tablespoons
  • Black salt: To taste
  • Water: to suit the consistency preferred
  • Green chili: Tiny bit (optional)

Method

  • Place the cucumber, raw mango pulp, grated ginger, mint leaves, green chilli piece if using and black salt in the blender and blend well.
  • Add the yoghurt and blend together. Add enough water to get the right consistency.
  • Adjust seasoning.
  • Pour into glasses and serve chilled.

  • Food group: nut and vegetables
  • Curd based summer drink that can be served as a palate cleanser or a starter.
  • Blending with cucumber gives it a great texture.
