It has a curative property in reducing body temperature which could facilitate the cure in fevers. It detoxifies the body and could be recommended as part of raw diets while undergoing naturopathic treatments. Helps in cure of digestive ailments, diabetes (due to high fibre content), constipation, respiratory disorders, hair care etc.

Curry leaves:

Are good in treatment of diabetes, helps in improving eyesight and hair growth. Also helps in healing of burns, skin eruptions etc

Mint leaves:

Soothes the stomach upset removes bad breath, combats common flu and cold, reduces stress, prevents nausea and vomiting, increases mental awareness.

Coriander leaves:

Coriander or cilantro is a rich source of dietary fibre, rich in elements like manganese, iron and magnesium. it is helpful to lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase the levels of good cholesterol (HDL).

Ingredients

  • 1 small snake gourd
  • 1/4 red capsicum (gives colour to salad)
  • 1/4 tomato
  • Black Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Ginger powder or freshly grated ginger
  • Lemon juice (optional )
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Few curry leaves, mint and coriander for dressing (gives the aroma to the salad )

Method

  • Scrape the skin of snake gourd using a scrapper knife.
  • Scrape the skin until the white layer is visible to avoid bitterness.
  • Thoroughly wash the vegetable.
  • Finely chop snake gourd, tomato, red capsicum and put them into a mixing bowl.
  • Add salt, pepper, ginger, lemon juice & mix well.
  • Add curry leaves, mint leaves and coriander leaves to dress the salad and make it palatable
